Lookup a Business Entity

Step 1 – Start

Search for a business entity (Corporation, LLC, Limited Partnership) in North Dakota by using the Secretary of State’s Website. You will have the option to look up by Name (*It is highly recommended to use as many matching terms when using the Name option), ID Number, Officer (Owner), License Number, City (of Principal Office Address),  and County.

After making your selection you will be brought to the Results Page (See Below).

Step 2 – Choose Your Entity

As you can see on the sample above that when looking for your entity you will be able to preview its System ID Number, Name, Type, Status, and availability to see previous filings (in PDF). In order to view all the information on file with the Secretary of State you must click on the blue text link underneath the ‘Type/Status’ column. This will bring you to the Details Page (See Below).

Step 3 – Retrieve Information

This is the final step of your query and now you are able to obtain all the details about the entity including its ID Number, Phone Number, Type, Original File Date, State of Origin, Effective Date, Nature of Business, Principal Office Address, Registered Agent (Name and Address), and the option to file an annual report at the bottom of the page.
