Lookup a Business Entity

Step 1 – Start

In Wyoming, search for a business entity (Corporation, LLC, Limited Partnership) by using the Secretary of State’s Website. Lookup by Name or Filing ID Number. When using the Name option, be sure to use as many matching terms as you can as the database will pull all related listings.

Once you have made your selection, you will be sent to the Results Page.

Step 2 – Choose Your Entity

Now you may sort through the matching entities and be able to preview their Filing ID Number, Type, Date of Incorporation, and Standing with the Secretary of State (Good or Delinquent). Click on the blue text link under the Filing ID in order to access all the available information on file with the Secretary of State (See Below).

Step 3 – Retrieve Information

You have reached the end of your search and now are able to view all the entity details including its Name, Filing ID Number, Type, Previous Names, Fictitious Names, State of Incorporation, Term of Duration, Purpose Code, Status & Standing, Initial Filing Date, Principal Mailing Address, and Registered Agent information (Name and Address.

At the top of the page, you may File an Annual Report (if you are a representative of the entity).

You may also on the bottom of the page have the option to view the History of Previous Filings, Public Notes, and Parties Involved.

Step 4 – Steps to form your new Business in Wyoming

• Business name availability search (above)
• Internet domain availability search for website and email.
• Choose your entity type (LLC, S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnership, or Non-Profit Org)
• Obtain IRS EIN Number (employer identification number).  Create New IRS EIN Number
• Create Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws that include describing the business purpose of the entity, naming the registered agent, directors, registered address, operating guidelines, dissolution provisions, and other information.
• Determine if the new entity requires any federal, state, or local business licenses.
• Determine payroll tax requirements.
• Determine federal, state, and local tax filing requirements.
• Establish the business physical and/or mailing address, phone number, voicemail, website, email address, and business cards.
